2005 Aston Martin DB9 with Works Sports Suspension Pack – SOLD

The Aston Martin DB9 was introduced at the 2003 Frankfurt Auto Show and was manufactured for 12 years from 2004 to 2016. The DB9 was a significant new model in Aston Martin history being a radically entirely new design that introduced the VH platform and a body based on aluminium and composite construction. It was the first car to be built at Aston Martin’s purpose built new facility at Gaydon in Warwickshire. As the successor to the largely Jaguar XJS based DB7 model Aston Martin chose to emphasis what a step forward the new car was by naming it the DB9 and missing out the DB8 number in the sequence. The car was designed by Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker and features the 5.9-litre V12 engine from the Aston Martin Vanquish.

Enough background let’s talk about the DB9 that we currently have for sale, this is another joint project with our friends at Astonadvantage and Chicane the independent Aston Martin Specialist. Delivered new and first registered on 01 January 2005 by Harwoods of Chichester the DB9 shows just 5 owners, but this is really only 4 owners as the previous owner was a Finance Company who only had the V5C in their name for 2 months. The current owner has owned the DB9 for 13 years and driven 23000 miles mostly in Spain where he spent significant parts of the year. This means the DB9 like its owner has escaped the worst effects of the English winter weather. The current mileage stands at just 49541 miles.

What really stands out about this DB9 apart from its stunning looks and the V12 sound track is that in February 2007 the second owner sent the car back to Harwoods Aston Martin to have the Aston Martin Works Sports Pack retrofitted at a cost of £7000. The Sports Pack was introduced as an option on new DB9’s in 2006 and significantly improved the handling of the DB9 making it much more to the liking of focused drivers. In fact the Evo Magazine road testers who did not particularly praise the handing of the standard DB9 positively raved about it once it was fitted with the Sports pack. The Sports Pack includes;

  • 1kg lighter 5 spoke aluminium alloy wheels and titanium wheel nuts saving unsprung weight
  • 6mm lower ride height
  • Uprated springs and dampers, 68% stiffer at the front and 64% at the rear
  • Altered front anti-roll bar
  • An aluminium panel replaces the composite undertray increasing the body torsional rigidity

The DB9 has full Service history by Aston Martin Dealers and the same specialist garage looked after the car during its time in Spain. The owner’s books and records are with the car and complete.

The DB9 looks magnificent in its Titanium Silver paint and the Moon Shadow leather interior has just the right amount of patina to show a well-cared for car that has been enjoyed, and it’s hard not to enjoy the sound of the magnificent naturally aspirated V-12 engine especially as the exhaust bypass opens as the revs climb past 3000rpm. The 5.9 litre V12 engine produces 450bhp and 420ft/lbs of torque delivered via the 6 speed ZF Touchtronic gearbox.

For complete piece of mind the DB9 has just had a Gold Service and inspection carried out by Renowned Aston Martin Specialists Chicane and any outstanding items were rectified.

The DB9 comes with the original handbook, loads of invoices, an email from Harwoods Aston Martin of Chichester confirming the service history with them. In addition the DB9 comes with;

  • Genuine Aston Martin fitted indoor car cover
  • Originally supplied “Aston Martin” Ctek battery charger
  • Original tyre pump/compressor with tyre sealant

A seriously cool car that is equally at home on a Sunday morning blast on familiar roads or a long continental grand tour.
